About Me

I have a Masters in Counselling and Human Services from La Trobe University,  a Masters in Social Work from Federation University and a Graduate Qualification in Bereavement Counselling from the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement. I am a Mental Health Social Worker, which enables me to provide Medicare rebated sessions for clients with Mental Health Care Plans. I am also a registered educator and clinical supervisor. I work with clients using focused psychological strategies to provide emotional and psychosocial support to engage with their problems, and to support them to get back on track. I established my own practice in 2012, and have also worked extensively with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (Grief Australia).

Amongst my areas of specialisation are grief and bereavement counselling with specific expertise in Complicated Grief Therapy (Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy).  I have trained in Complicated Grief Therapy with Dr M. Katherine Shear, at the Centre for Complicated Grief, Columbia University in New York. I have been supervised in this training by Dr Shear and Dr. Bonnie Gorscak, the developers and researchers of CGT.

In 2016,  I received an Australian Government Endeavour Fellowship and spent three months at the Centre for Complicated Grief in New York as a visiting clinical fellow. This provided me with a unique learning experience and higher level of familiarity using this protocol.

I am a member of  the Australian Association of Social Workers.
